The 31st Annual Optimist Talent Competition will be held at 2 PM April 8, 2017 at Thomas Johnson High School, 1501 North Market St, Frederick, Maryland.This production features the talents of students attending middle school or home schooled in Frederick County. The competition is in the areas of dance, string instruments, other instruments, vocal and dramatic monologue.

The grand prize winner is awarded $750; the winner of each category will receive $400; the remaining finalist will each receive $125. Of the 77 students who participated in the audition in March, there are 20 finalists who will compete in the five categories for the final show. Eight judges will select the winners, and there will also be a “People’s Choice” trophy decided by those in attendance in the audience.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students, available at the door on the day of the performance.
